Has anyone gotten fake alpines

The price on alpine speakers is all over the place. Then I ran across a thread where the buyer had gotten fake alpine knock offs . I checked the alpine web site and there is a warning about this. How can I tell if I'm getting a good deal or a fake pair of speakers. Crutchfield is about twice the price as other sites.

If you have an Al & Ed's stereo, they are pretty straight forward & honest...the independents....I have heard them claim anything you can imagine including "Kenwood is closing it's doors" just to sell me Alpine speakers (in fact Alpine sold out and was vacating their US inventory at the time).

Although crutchfield is a little more $, they are honest and you get what you pay for.

Ya that would be the best thing to do. Pony up the extra cash and get it from crutchfield. Then I know its legit.
