Got your email, thanks. Will go over the sheets tonight and decide by friday. I read that link you posted, and while I'm glad he ended up with a setup that worked for him, I've read several reviews on the retail version of this in which the reviewers replaced their stock speakers with great results, such as this one:
Either way, I'm going to stick with my Alpines. After going through the effort of installing them, especially the comps up front, I'd rather leave them alone. I'll email you by the end of the week. Thanks.
I picked this up the other day. It is pricey but I couldn't resist that it was all plug and play as I did not feel like tearing up all of the backseat area to mount an amp on the back wall. Anyway, long story short is that the improvement over the stock system is great! The system has the potential to hit as hard as anyone would want unless you're one of those that needs to vibrate anyone and everyone around you. Apparently Kicker recommends not to use aftermarket speakers. I have Infinity Reference 6832cf's all the way around and they have opened up quite nicely with the provided DSP. Very clear sound and zero distortion. They sounded good without the DSP but now that it's hooked up I can tell they were a bit muddy before. Overall I am very pleased. I can also say that it'll blow the Sony Stereo out in terms of bass and clarity. The only upside to the Sony is the extra speakers in the A-pillars and center channel. This was installed in a 2011 FX2 F-150 and the install was very straight forward as I hoped it would be.

1) The bass can be overbearing 90% of the time. To counter it, you have to turn down the bass way past flat. As a result, you lose mid-bass. If you like classic rock at all, you may end up disappointed. I feel the internal crossover settings need to be adjusted or finely tuned.
2) My truck does not have tweeters in the A-pillars so if your truck does, you may hear things differently than I do. That said, the soundstage in my truck is absolutely horrible. You could even go so far as to say it is non-existent. This is not the fault of this Kicker upgrade though.
3) I think it was well worth the money I spent on it. It most certainly sounds $500 better than the original factory setup. I would buy it again.
I am hoping that once I install my Alpine nav deck, I can tune it better to my liking. The Alpine has a pretty extravagant built-in EQ. I may also see if I can find some A-pillar tweeters and trim someday down the road.

For anyone considering an aftermarket head unit, I can confirm that the Kicker Soundstage system will work with it.
I installed my Alpine INE-W927HD nav unit with Axxess wiring harness and steering wheel control, as well as the PAC-TR7 e-brake interface. Everything was installed and connected to the harness that came with the Kicker kit.
The result is that not only does the aftermarket HU work fine with the Kicker system, it sounds fantastic! It's a complete night and day difference and it was well worth it over the base stock system. If anyone is considering this, do it.

Do you still have these?

Yeah i got a further hope crush. I thought these would work on the crappy STX radio but their ebay page says no. Looks like I get to upgrade it all on my own. Wish i had kept up with audio technology. I don't fancy letting cartoys do it.

PS: I paid $495, shipped, by calling Beau at Rogel, & that was last month. (Feb `16) Everywhere else I have looked, these systems are $600-$1200
