Unhappy What speakers to replace stock?

I know nothing about audio. Just want to upgrade speakers. Have a regular cab with oem cd/mp3/sirus xm, no amp. Looking for better sound than the 6 year old factory units. Also a place to purchase.
Thanks for any input.

A year ago I replace the front and back door speakers in my 05 Screw that has the audiophile system with Infinity 6829CF. Good match with the oem head unit and the sound it much better.

Hey CC and Dog,
Thanks for info, just had Ford dealer replace my malfunctioning head unit and makes my speakers sound bad. Look like good speakers and easy install with wire adaptors.
Again Thank you very much.

Yea the wire adapters make it a very simple install. If you go with the Infinity you will also need a couple of large zip ties to hold the crossover out of the way and from banging inside the door.

If your looking for cost effective and good sound quality I just replace my daughters door speakers with kickers from walmart. Cheap and surprisingly sounded pretty damn good. They cost 39 bucks a set. Not everyone wants to spend 150.00 and thought I would give you a heads up on these. Just my .02.

Hey 01 gt,
I looked at these, was torn between them, jbl, infinity. Was concerened about price. Went with Infinity 6829cf because found smoken deal at Online car stereo. Total of 4 speakers and 4 wire adaptors landed for $165.46.
This is my forever Truck, still only has 24,000 miles on her.
I really like how your truck has come out after all your work.
Thanks for input.

No worries, I personally went with Polk audio for door speakers, kick panels and rear center Pod. Silk dome tweeters don't sound harsh like alot of others. The Infinity's sound pretty good too. You should be pretty happy with those. Glad you like the truck. She was alot of work but in the end I have no intention of selling her so I went all out. She's still a work in progress. Always something else I want to do.

I think there is, I kind of forgot how or where I zip tied mine but as soon as you pull the front speakers you will see there are not many options. Just make sure not to put it where the window going up and down can hit it. When you get them installed play with the directional tweeter before you put the grill back on. I left mine off for a few days so I could adjust them for what I thought the best sound was.

The Kickers that were mentioned, good speakers with good low end but you have to have more power to drive them, the Infinity's match the OEM head unit pretty well. Hope they work out well for you.

Hey all,
Update: installed the speakers yesterday, Online Car Stereo was out of the Infinity 6829cf so they upgraded my order to 682.11cf at no extra cost, nice of them. Made a night and day difference, very pleased with the sound.

What is the general consensus on trucks that are equipped with the Sony system which is billed by Ford as an "upgrade" - are these speakers still worth replacing?

I've read some other posts on how to improve the subwoofer's performance, just wondering about the door speakers. I would like to actually not have to pull a new truck apart for a change to replace speakers; I'm sure that factory can always be improved upon, but are the Sony parts legit?
