Speaker Recommendation
Hey fellas,
I am in need of replacing my rear door speakers, had alpine type R and I was not pleased with them, then I switched them for some cheap polks, those sounded great but they blew out because the raw power a 4 channel 600 watt alpine put them to good use.
I am looking for crisp clear and loud. Non-mainstream brands are fine, but I would not want to hit the $150 range for some coaxials in 5x7/6x8.
Thanks in advance

I'm running these in my front doors, they are a little spendy but they fit and you can mount the tweeter in the mid and make it a coax. When I crank it up, it sounds nice and clear and my system is tuned by my amateur ear, and it's so loud it hurts my ears. I can only listen to it cranked for a few seconds then I have to turn it down. I'm only pushing 100 W rms to them.

I loved my Alpine Type Rs that I had in my old Suburban, and frankly wish I had taken those 6.5"s out and stuffed them in the 150. I like the amp'd Polks in my buddy's truck too.
The Boston Acoustic ones I have now are very crisp and clean, but I can't remember the model number and they only handle 35W, so an amp is out of the question. But they were $50 a pair on clearance from Crutchfield and couldn't pass them up.
I do think that anything that can handle that many watts is gonna run in the $150 range.

01, already have 2 12s under the rear bench seat.
Did some searching since I really am trying to be money conscious and came up with this,
What do you guys think? I think thats a comfortable RMS rating but never heard Infinity an infinity speaker before.

There advertising seems convincing enough but I know of people that have had problems with the tweeters not holding up. My personal choice is Polk and I have heard infinity's and both sound very nice, the tweeter issue has kept me with the Polks.. just my 2 shiny pennys. Hope this helps. Infinity is not bad at all but don't push the high's to high..lol
