Subwoofer Box, Home made...

I just wanted to pass the word that it is very simple to build you own custom box for under the back seat at a price that doesn't even compare to what a store would charge.. I used to work as an installer when I was in high school so I decided to take a wack at making my own box..

I ended up nuilding a 16"X12"X7"X5" box for one 10" subwoofer. The materials cost me under $30.00 and the sub sounds amazing. If anyone is interested in pics, details, etc. let me know and I can help you out..and this only took about 1HR.

Here is a design i found elsewhere on this forum for a full width two sub set up. Please note I have not build this box, but at least one person has and claimed it is correct. Please also note that some discussion has occurred about the box width being 50" wide. Some people preferred it 52" wide:

full-length-box-1.jpg?t=1232847842

full-length-box-3.jpg?t=1232847674

If anyone else has a box design they want in 3D form, PM me and I will lay it out in 3d format. I would only ask that we share the design on this forum for all to see. No charge to do this, as it only take a few minutes.

Is yours 50" wide or a different dimension?

My box is 52" wide, and fits perfectly between the supports for the seat.

The subs are 10's, 1030W's to be exact.

I found decent carpet at Crutchfield online.

I especially like it because it is 54" on one side.

Who are you talking to? And what is it that you want emailed to you? The design of at least one box is fully detailed to the extent possible in the images above. The OP posted all of his dimensions for his one sub set up.....what more do you need?

I found some at walmart in the auto section. Its enough for 1 12in sub maybe 2in's only cost me like 6$.

A tip to everyone. Take in account the width of your mdf when you make your measurments for cuts. I forgot to do that and my total cubic ft came out to be too much. So in a couple of days ill be trying again.

is a neat tool ive been using to help.

I dont understand this part of your question "and ? three I get four I don't" Take the time to write your sentence properly and perhaps we can help....instead of guessing what you are attempting to say or ask. I have read that sentence multiple times and still dont understand what you are asking.

My best guess is that you only seem to see three dimensions for the 10" sub box design posted above. You are seeking the four dimension, and by your statement, it seems to be the height that you feel is missing.

From the original posters comment, I see four dimensions as follows:

"16"X12"X7"X5"

Again, unless I am missing something, you have all the information you need to build a box based purely on dimensions only.
