finally decided on speakers

going with JL TR's 6.5 components in the front and the TR coaxial in the rear. these speakers sound amazing. heard them side by side with alpine type s powered by just a radio and imho they blew the alpines away. and for about 260 for the set from woofersetc i think its a great deal. so if you want amazing sound without adding an amp this is def the way to go

For that much money you can definitly do better. JL is overpriced, and making a comparison while powered by a HU is stupid since the proper way to power component speakers like that is with an amplifier. Compare the JLs to the Type X. I REALLY like the tweeters on the X components.

Hit up Don i bet he could get you a nice set of Rainbows for 260 that will stomp those JLs.

i know there are speakers that will beat out those jl's, but i dont want to amp the speakers, i know these sound really good of stock deck power and thats what i am looking for. i will add a small amp to power a jl w1 in a supercrewsound box at a later date. i just dont want to get into line out converters or anything technicle like a 3sixty or a cleansweep. and i am not sure how the amps with built in inputs sound. i would change the headunit but i have stock nav which i luv so thats not an option. how good do amps sound with a speaker level input?
