KenWood KFC-C6882ie 6x8 Speakers

I bought 4 of these speakers off of ebay NIB for 89.00. I installed them in the rear doors of my 04 Screw and I honestly can't say I'm impressed. The factory speakers are louder than the Kenwoods are. Did I hook them up backward maybe. I used a thread on one of the forums to determine polarity. I have read where a speaker hooked up backward will work but will be quieter than normal. Is that correct?

they'll work, they are not as loud because aftermarket speakers require more power to really get them going.
so your stock speakers which are designed to take about 20 watts rms can get maxed out with the stock HU
aftermarket speakers which require 2,3,4 or more times as much power as stock will never reach their potential without an amp

not sure what those speakers are rated at, but the Alpine f300 is a great, low cost amp.
amp installs arent too bad, just gotta get to the back of your head unit and under the side panels of your truck
