Looking for Tweeters...

So I'm a newb with audio. I have a 98 Extended Cab. Just got done modifying the exterior of my truck and the engine is good for now. Trying to pep up the audio. i dont want overkill, but someting louder than oem. I just got a Sony CDX-M630 (motorized face, no longer in production) and I love it. its is coupled to a 30GB Zune. the HU is wired to a pair of 240W 6x8 Pioneer AS-6872R's in the front (which sound WAYY better than OEM) with stockers in the back. I was thinking of getting four tweeters and mounting two of them on that long vertical pillar on the driver and pax door (ie, right beside the ear) and the other two on the C-pillar for the rear pax's. Im more for price than quality. what are some good "moderate" tweeters? I thought crutchfield would be a good shopper, but when I found the speakers i got for $39.95 on crutchfield for $79.99 i'm afraid of being overcharged for tweeters. another thing: where do I hook them up to? someone told me I need an amp to run them. is this true? thanks in advance!

Why do you want more tweeters? Are you unhappy with your highs right now?

putting tweeters there is going to seriously upset your sound stage since they are so far from any kind of midbass woofers. You're better off just not doing it unless you redo everything.

Yes you would need amps for them.

Crutchfield isnt overcharging you. They are authorized dealers for everything they sell. Thats current MAP.

All the other sites arent authorized and are going behind the manu's backs to get products. Then they let them go for dirt cheap. Sometimes, they arent even really the same thing, but replicas.

its not that im not happy with my highs, but i heard some tweeters and they sounds pretty sweet coupled up with the mains. i might end up saving the money and replacing the rear speakers first. just noticed the bass went out in the left rear. going to get another pair of Pioneers to keep everything level.
