Brand New 08 SCAB, Need sub help!

Hey Folks!

I just got my brand new 08 SCAB, XLT w/XTR Package, 5.4 V8.. etc etc..

I'm in the market for adding a sound system, but there is one problem, I have absolutely no idea what to buy lol. It's my first vehicle so let's say I'm not very vehicle saavy, but am learning

Anyways hoping someone can help me, maybe list out exactly everything I need to buy..

What I want to do is keep my stock HU and add all of these.

Basic 12" Sub Box (going to just flip up back seats, also something easy to remove if I have passengers)

12" Sub (Anyone have any Mid-End Alpine suggestions? I can get good deals on them)

Decent Amp, how much Watts will I need etc..

Now what kind of cables and wiring will I need? I remember a friend mentioning a Line Out Converter??

Anyways, sorry for the long post, thank you very much for any help in advance, it's much appreciated

first you need to ask yourself how loud you want it and how much money you want to spend. an alpine type r in a ported box would be pretty good, and if you can get a deal on them it would be pretty cheap too. match that with an alpine mrd m605, m1000, or pdx 1.600. you will need 4 gauge power wire, rca cables and a line out converter.

Ya im in the same situation as you, except i'm getting an 06 fx4 scab. I want to go real loud on mine, so the people in the cars around me can here it. I was thinkiing of either going with two 12" kicker solo baric l5's. I don't really know where they would go though. I'm thinking I could probably build my own box shaped to the back seat and put one facing up and the other facing foreward on an angle. I saw a picture on here somewhere...I'm not really sure how much there is to building a box either. If it just takes plywood and a circular saw I'll be good to go. What size amp is needed for two 12" subwoofers?
