amp and sub installation help

I bought a sub/amp combination and I want to do it myself and at the same time have it sufficient and reliable.I may have overkilled it but I got a good deal the parts off of ebay.I'm limited on space so I want to get it right the first time because its going under my seats in my 2002 king ranch supercrew. So I wont be able to just pull it up quickly for modifications.Ok this is what I'm working with.I have a rockford fosgate p8002 amp,2 DVC MTX T5512-44 subs and I have a 1.2 CU FT sealed box.The specs for the amp is http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...s=discontinued and the sub specs is on this one http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products...hunder5500.cfm
I wanted to try and run my four door speakers off of one channel if possible?I also have a 4 GA wiring kit with a 1 farad capasitor.
I know I'm not going to beat the block with this set up but I would like a nice sound without putting too much of a load on the sub or amp.I know that too low Ohms will cause problems if they're not designed for it.Thanks and I hope someone can help.If you need to ask questions I'm sure I can answer most of them.

You don't want to do that. That would divide the power of the 1 channel by 4. Plus you wouldn't have stereo sound but 4 way mono. That would mean when a instrument plays on the left channel you won't hear it cause it would be going to your sub. So all 4 speakers need a individual channel to sound right.

Take that capacitor and put it back in the box. They are pretty much a waste of money on most basic systems.

here's a lengthy answer to the "Why?" lingering in your mind:

So with that amp here's what I recommend. Get a descent set of front door speakers and use that rockford amp solely to run them. Get 1 more amp either a cheap monoblock or 2 channel amp that puts out 300w RMS. This amp needs to have a built in crossover for subs other wise known as a low pass filter. I can find one on ebay if you want. I don't want to go on further with explaining this as I don't know your headunit. Sooo....

Before you start digging in we need to know if your using your factory system or aftermarket. Also what sort of budget do you have for door speakers and another amp? We can help you out here just don't leap before you let us look.

Impact is right on the button. Not a good idea at all. The only way to make use of one amp would be to run the front speakers off 2 channels and run a sub bridged at the same time. This is called stereo/mono simultaneous operation. The downside to this is no way to control the output of the front speakers and the sub seperately. Plus, no crossover control at all unless you buy passive crossovers. This was a popular method back in the day but, not used much now. I too would recommend another amp to either power your front speakers or power your sub. Or get one 4 channel amp.

Ok thats makes sense.I bought it off ebay and it said 2 channel and I was thinking I could separate them but I only saw one channel.I have a kenwood kvt 815 so I'm sure I'll be able to do all the adjustments from it.I think I'll just run the subs off the amp and let the radio do the rest for the fronts cause they dont really sound bad and I'm limited on space. Not even sure where I'm going to put that 800 watt monster I have now.Should've done my homework first cause the same seller had a p8004 for sale at the same time. But I do know that its best to wire the coils in series and speakers in parallel.Let me know if this is a good idea?
