Question Line out on H/U

Anyone know if the factory 6 disc/mp3 non-audiophile H/U has a line out or do you have to put a converter on if you want to add a sub ??

Cool

You need to put a LOC (line output converter) on a stock deck. Then you can run subs or other speakers if you want.

Do you tap one of the existing speaker wires or do they sell harnesses that provide a "split" to go to the LOC ?

You tap a left and a right speaker wire from the radio to the LOC

here's a link from crutchfield http://www.crutchfield.com/S-nb62qGi...g=721&I=101PL2

Hope this helps

Thanks NightOwl. So I'm assuming that I could tap the two rears on my SCrew and still run the two rear speakers while creating a line out for a sub amp ?

Cool

Dp2boy, yes you can tap the rear speakers to your LOC and from your LOC to your amp to your subs.

I was originally going to do that, but then decided to go with a Alpine HU with 4 X 65 output and pre outs to my subs.

Those stock ford factory 6 disk changer are crappy, sometimes they either skip when playing your CD's or it would jam up in the changer. Thats why i switched
