power speakers with amp or head unit

I have average quality speakers all around. I think kicker and pioneer. Not the cheapest version but definitely not the most expensive version either. I bought a cheap 50x4 amp to power them. My question is, should I power my speakers with my head unit (clarion dxz545mp) or should I stick with the cheap amp?

I ask this because Ive heard that cheap amps dont exactly give you the quality and amount of watts that they are rated.

Thanks!

I've always thought that any amp is better rthan none at all. Of course Ive never thought of this in terms of a really cheap amp. I'd say the only way you'll know for sure is to hook up your system with and without and see which sounds better.

Yeah I might do that. The only reason I am asking is because I am getting static in the speakers and I think its from the amp. The ground seems to be fine so I dont know.
Thanks

Check and see where you're grounded at and make sure that you're not getting a loop. I agree with that amping your speakers with a small amp is better than none at all.

You might be getting ground interference with your signal wires. Make sure your RCA's aren't run in the same place as your power and your ground. When I wire a vehicle I always try and run the power and ground on one side and the speaker wire and the RCA's on the other.
