Exclamation Updated Classified Section-Coming Soon

We are planning on updating the classifieds on f150online

The intent of this is to help make the classifieds easier for you to find parts/vehicles.
We will maintain the forums as they are currently, however you will find two search boxes that will appear next to the threads.
One for searching for Trucks, the other for searching for parts.

How will this affect using the classifieds for you?
Not at all – all existing classified rules will not change (and we ask that you still adhere to them!), it is just that hopefully we can help you find (or sell) the part/car you are looking for in a much easier fashion.
The forum layout, or existing forums that exist for classifieds should not change either.

Will these searching options be available for existing classified threads?
No. All existing classifieds will exist and be searchable as they are today. All newly created classifieds will be searchable via this format.

Feedback?
You are welcome to provide feedback in this thread on the classifieds so we can make changes to its configuration.
We appreciate all feedback, and we will try to incorporate as much of it as we can into future development and respond to your requests.

Searching for vehicles
When searching for a vehicle, we will scour the following mediums to find the vehicle you are looking for.
  1. Threads on the site
  2. Local dealerships
  3. eBay

You will have the option to search for
  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • Price
  • Mileage
  • Location (State/Province)
  • Color
  • Transmission
  • Drivetrain
  • Color
  • Engine
This should enable you to find the exact vehicle you are looking for much quicker. You can also still use our standard search option after filtering too.
(We will attempt to narrow down options from local dealerships and eBay as best we can using these items too)

Searching for parts
In addition to searching this site, we will search eBay as well to try to find parts for you.
You will be able to filter for the following:
  • Category (engine part etc.)
  • Price:
  • Location (State):
  • Item Condition: (New/Used)
  • Shipping Information: (Can it be shipped?)
  • Engine: (What type of engine does it fit?)
  • Part fits: (What type of vehicle does it fit?)

Want to share a set of results?
You can copy the URL of the results and this will only show vehicles with the limitations you have been searching for - manual transmission, in white that are newer than 2004 for example

When are you planning on doing this?
Stage one this week, then after a month, we switch them on fully.

Hopefully you will find this helpful using f150online, we think it should help!

cheers,
robb

Definitely a good addition for our site. Our current (staff-set) policies will be changing soon to reflect the addition of ebay items for search (since the new classifed system contradicts with our current policy)... the garage feature will be a nice one too...

I'm usually slow to technological changes.
My ancestors were a cold people due to their reluctance to adapt to fire.

I'll be leaning forward in the foxhole on this one.
Decking out my garage like all my neighbors or whatever it is or whatever one does with a virtual garage.

I'm gonna have an extra high ceiling with the checker board tile floor. Ceiling fans and a lift. really gonna be nice!

What does stage one mean for us users? Is this different from what we will see next month?

Stage One is the most dangerous part of the whole process.
The servers dilithium crystals must be disengaged yet suspended in place.
The Matter/Anti-Matter chamber must be swept clean of all residue
(it is unknown how long that will take as IB has been doing god knows what in there)

All we can do is keep our fingers crossed that it goes well and we all don't end up glowing like the fifth moon of Uranus.
