Post What Other Parts Are Needed To Install 4.10 Gears?

I just received my Motorsport 4.10 gears today(thanks videoman). I was wondering what other parts do I need to complete the install? I was wondering if I need a new bearing set, or can I just re-use the old bearings?

Thanks, HANKFAN

Thanks Roger, I take it that you can reuse the old bearings.

You will need too many parts, so you just better make me a good deal on those gears

Ford part#N811024-S100/ pinion nut better get 2 of them

Pinion seal forgot the # make sure it's for the 9.75

If you have a nice bearing puller you will not need the pinion bearing, but you do need the shim behind it

Last you need a VERY CLEAN can to catch the gear oil. This is 100,000 mile oil do not change it. If you do make sure you get the ford replacement oil(about $50-$60 BUCKS)

Good Luck, and may the Gear God's be with you.
Also your wife might not let you in the house for a week, because of the SMELL

One last cool tip: you can get ARP studs for the 8.8 or Dana 60, and these will fit your 9.75

The only thing I brought in was a check book. I took the L in to an expert and for $600 everything was done by someone who has installed 4.10's on an L and knew that he needed to cut down some shims to make the proper fit.

If you go to a different gear manufacter you will need a lot more.

12 Ring Bolts
2 Carrier bearings
2 Pinion bearings
1 Pinion seal
1 Crush sleeve
1 Pinion nut
1 Gasket
1 Shim kit to adjust depth and backlash

Where did you find Ford 4.10 gears at. Man I can't find them anywhere. I've checked every discontinued nook and cranny possible.
