Thumbs up Drag Radials

Hi All, Is anyone here have a "in" with BFGoodrich,Nitto,or Hoosier. It sure would be nice to have a drag tire to fit the 18" wheel.I know some of you have the BFG's on 16", but it would be cool(stealthy)to have a 295/45/18 or 315/40/18 Maybe a group buy in or something?

I'm with ya for some 18" DR's. You would think maybe they are working on something. Maybe we should all e-mail them and let them now we want some... Jeff

well I turned in my suggestion, anyone else interested should do the same. They say they review and respond to every suggestion, and we have enough people on this board to at least get them to do some R&D.

I certainly agree that 18" DR's would be very desirable. The Black Beast needs bigger shoes, especially at the track. I have a pair of Lightning wheels, just sitting in the garage, waiting for some shoe leather to make 'em usful.

At this point, I'll be grateful to any company that will get some good, high quality, highly sticky tires available in appropriate sizes for our trucks.

I'll be emailing any who will listen on this subject, and the race is on. The first one out with what we want will surely make a ton of money. We may even have to get Jeff to change the breakout bracket for FWC because more of us will be running in the 12's!

Hey Wyldman, how did you get the extra pair of wheels? How much did they cost you? I scratched up one of mine at a fast food drive thru of all places, and wouldn't mind buying a new pair, and using an older pair for some DRs myself.

Brimstone,

I ordered them from the Tire Rack and waited for 4 months for them to come in. I wasn't in any hurry, so I left the order open until the backlog was filled. I believe I gave >$200.00 ea. Stiff, I know, but the only way I could find the correct rims and not pay $450.00 from Ford.

Hey Wyldman, I looked all over TireRack for lightning rims to no avail... I'd love to have a pair to hopefully put some street slicks on some day... any paticular spot you saw them in? I have a gut feeling they're all gone :-(

I just recieved the following response from Nitto:

<<Did the Ford Lightning club decide to all email Nitto? We've gotten a TON of
these requests lately!! =)

Sorry, but we have no plans to offer an 18" drag radial. However, it is
being considered.

Please feel free to email us if you have any further questions.>>

**Doesn't sound like it's gonna happen, time to look elsewhere in my opinion.
