Just kinda wondering about how much would a 01' L put down on the dyno? and what would that equal to what it puts out at the block? thanks for your time.

Ford claims 380hp at the flywheel. With a minimum of 11% drive train power loss, how are you able to dyno 350-360rwhp?

Lightnings must be under rated at 380 then??? 380 minus 11% is less then 360 so it must be underrated form the factory.

Just had my 2003 L dynoed today. It has 500 miles on it and is BONE STOCK. I'm kind of disappointed with the numbers. 322.9 HP@5000 and 389.6 ft-lbs@3000. I'm wondering if anybody has ever dynoed this low?

Wow thats a big diffrence. I'mr 25-45 hp lower than other trucks that are stock. I wonder if there is a problem with my truck. I seen an earier thread about the intercooler pump, but that doesnt seem to be my problem because i do have bubbles in the resevoir tank for the intercooler.

I really didnt plan on modding the truck for a while, because I would of been happy with 350-360 at the wheels.

Can I call SVT and complain about lack of power or are my numbers still in the ballpark of 380 flywheel HP.

These numbers are not stock, but here's a graph of my 01 L on the dyno with just intake and exhaust. Mods are JDM silver bullit exhaust and AFM powerpipe/powerstack filter.

If you feel you dyno'd low the best way to doublecheck is go to the track. Dyno's can often be off by quite a bit. One dyno may read high, and one might read low. As long as you are in the 13's or low 14's at the track, your truck is on par.
