Rear Mat Showdown.. Which is the best.

Okay, I have been totally happy with my Wade front floor mats. I love the coverage. I ordered all three - Husky, Weathertech, and Wade. Wade by far was the best of the lot. At least for me. Weathertech coming in a close second. Husky trailed a bit behind.

This is the front mats that I ended up staying with and am very happy with:

Amazon Amazon

So, after a month or two, I decided to purchase a rear mat. So which one?

I wanted one that had the best coverage, spill protection, and looked decent. Top three that everyone recommends, same as the front.

1. Husky 63683
Amazon Amazon

2. Weathertech
Amazon Amazon

3. Wade
Amazon Amazon

So, now the show down begins.....

Have shots of each mat. Taken from left and right side, both with the seat up and down to show total coverage.

Just a note, I have had my front and rear now for about 4 months. With some good use of dirt and weather. I have take trips to the city dump, and with the rain the Bay Area has gotten in the last few months, I have gotten a chance to test out the water retention of the mats. So far so good. Very happy with my choices.

First off, lets go with

Wade

This was an OK mat. I thought I would like this, since I love the front mat. However, the foot coverage was terrible. I either had to move it all the way up or back and there would be a gap of missing coverage. Plus the area of coverage was severely lacking when the rear seat was up. I have dogs, so I like to put the seat up sometimes. Even if the dogs were not there, moving cargo around with that rear lip would suck. Spill protection looked ok. But with no where to lead the liquid.... It would just slosh around.

Weathertech:

Up next, the current champion and all around most loved mat makers.

This one had all the of the plusses and most of the bads of the Wade.

It is deeper, so when the seat is down, no need to move the mat up or down, so coverage while the seat was down was acceptable. However, when the seat is up, did it really suck. The lip is a bit taller which is good and bad. Great for spills, which will keep most liquids in the mat with the higher lip, however, it makes it hard to move cargo around without hitting or bending the mat.

Another thing, this seemed to be the most difficult mat to get in and out of the truck in the back. With that tall lip, it keeps catching whomever tries to get in.

Husky:

I was not expecting much from Husky. I mean its Home Depot right? I guess I was wrong. This is the bad boy that I ended up with.

They have two models. One with and without the tool kit area. But full coverage with the seats up and down. Looks nice. I like the liquid trap. Even if you spill in the front, it keeps it from sloshing under the seat. The lip is not as tall as the Weathertech, but tall enough. Ever so small issue getting in without hitting the lip, but I think that all mats with a rear lip will get that issue.

One positive, the rear mats match perfectly the color and diamond tread of the step guard. Nifty.
