Spark plug blow out

I have a '99 f150 with 4.6 and 185k...was driving today and the passenger side rear plug blew out of the head. Just wondering is it worth fixing? Thanks.

Absolutely. You need to use a timesert to repair the hole and keep on trucking.

Thanks for that! Now, is that a dyi type deal or do I need to let my mechanic do it?

Need advice on #8 blow out same motor, more complicated on drivers side firewall

Hey Glc, I've replaced two plugs using rethreading kit back in 04. Just yesterday #8 plug blew up against the drivers side firewall. I believe the plug may have broken off. I noticed this one is located under the fuel lines in the back of the motor. The others ran under the fuel rail and where easy to get at. My question, is it less of a job than I'm making it out to be thinking I should bring it to the god forsaken dealership to be fixed or maybe something I'm should just try and figure out and do myself.? I'm worried that if I pull the plug out I won't have enough room to get in there to retap it. I look forward to your reply thanks
