2018 F150 Diesel is coming
Just released they are coming out with the 3.0 diesel in the 2018s. Along with dropping the 3.5 N/A to a 3.3 v6. 5.0 has more power along with the 10 speed. Also new 2nd gen 2.7 eb with the 10 speed. 3.5 eb will be the same as the 2017s

I was 98 percent sure I was going to get a new 17 but now I'm thinking I'll wait until the 18s. Get the newer body style and good chance most glitches will be fixed in the 3.5/10 speed.

Everybody is speculating that the engine will be the 3.0 Lion version that Ford and Peugeot came up with for the Range Rover. The last update of that engine was in 2009 and it ended up at 271HP 440 ft lbs. But, Ford sold all of that to Tata. I doubt it is the same engine and most likely a clean sheet version of the older Powerstroke on a diet. Anyway, unless you see a FORD website describing the engine and what it is, it's a pure guess and I wouldn't run to the bank with the info. My personal opinion, which is probably as good as any, expect it to be delayed to a Job 2 offering.

I like the looks of it, even though it's a little too close to the SD's.
Glad to see a diesel finally in the line up. I am hopeful it will have a decent amount of power and be a notch above the Eco Diesel.
the 2018's look like they may be my year. It's always up to the CFO, but I am going to start planning for a new one now vs. putting some money and mods into this one. The 10 speed and dual fueling make the 3.5 Eco or the 5.0 pretty great options.

GM and Ford don't have stellar reputations for building new diesel engines. GM finally had to get Isuzu involved in order to build a decent pickup truck engine and Ford's 6.0 diesel was nothing to brag about. A small diesel is a great idea I think, but I'd be a little wary about the first ones.
