Question Want bigger tires on factory rims.

I'm wanting to put bigger tires on my 2003 f150 fx4 crew cab. I have torsion keys turned up is all I've done to truck. I don't really want to lift my truck but would look at getting different front bumper if needed. What's the biggest mud tires I can go with without it scrubbing as it is? I have 265/70/17s ats on it now.

The largest recommended tire for that rim is 285/70x17. Go to Tire Rack and check the specs for tires and suggested rim width. I talked to a guy who had 295/70x17 tires on his truck this vintage and he said they did not rub. they were Nittos and were 2/3 worn out and were wearing perfectly.

Thanks for the info because I was thinking about putting 33/12.50 on it or the 295/70/17s this helps allot.

I will second the recommendation for 285/70-17’s. I ran this size on my '99 stock wheels with the front end leveled and no other modifications.

The 33s will rub the lower corner of the front valance when you turn. Trim it and you should be fine. I have 305/70 R16s on but they are only 12 inches wide.

I ran the 285/70-17s on my stock wheels no issue with stock suspension.
