I have a open diff 8.8 in the truck right now with 3.31 gears and on gravel, dirt, rain or anything that is not dry pavement and even then sometimes one tire will spin with no reel effort even when i don't want it to and it is annoying. i am looking to drop a ford 8.8 ls diff with ls 3.73 gears in it. so where i am stuck is what years will go into the truck with no modifications.

you been to car-part.com? decent junk yard search engine. there's a ton of axles that'll fit under there. my knee jerk would be models 99-03 if you want it to bolt right up.
