I'm average height but when I'm flipping through songs on the stereo (I have music ADD) I constantly have to lean forward to change anything. My wife's car has steering wheel controls and I'm tired of being jealous, but I don't mind putting in the hard work.

Would I have to change my steering wheel out with a Lariat? I have an fx4. I have cruise control, but no radio controls.

 

I haven't but I have had the steering wheel of my F150 off and installed controls in another car. Assume you're talking about the radio. I think you'll need the new wheel w/ the controls, the wiring harness at the wheel, and the wiring harness for the radio. The scariest part is the airbag. Make sure you pull the fuse and battery cable. Keep the airbag facing away from you while handling it and then store it in a safe location. I would test all of the controls before re-assembly and save the airbag for last. I think this would be a full day job.
