Ford CPO
Truck in the shop today at 42k. Bought it 5 months ago with 36k. CPO with full wrap to cover to 7 years 100k. I was told my front shocks are leaking and are not covered. I am a little confused because it was explained to me the 12 month 12k mile warranty was extending the bumper to bumper coverage of the new truck? Anyone run into this? I understand after the 12k is up, there is a list of covered items, but I thought 12k was bumper to bumper. I can fix it myself, but not the point of me buying a cpo vehicle.

If they are the stock shocks at now 42k miles, then they are way past whatever 12k bumper to bumper it had??
Unless you bought your warranty to start at 0 miles from the date you bought it?
Gotta read the fine print I think and find out for sure..
I've never heard of any extended warranty that covers shocks and other "wear" items past the "bought brand new" warranty??
In any case, even if they did decide to warranty the shocks, they would only put on the OEM ones anyway and it might be better to get some nicer/better aftermarket ones that will have their own brand new warranty on them..
Good luck!

It's fine I get that it is not covered due to fine print. Just feel like a $30k certified pre owned bought from a Ford dealer would have a warranty that would cover it, at least to the first oil change! Based on how it is written, if I drove off the lot and the next day the brakes were grinding or shocks blew out, I have to pay for it. Every other CPO I have bought from others have had a bumper to bumper for the first year. But times are changing and we get less for more now. Now next question, what shocks do I get!
