Hoping this isn't a repost, but curious if anyone knows the details?

Good grief. It almost looks like the door pillar wasn't welded to the firewall at all. I've never seen one come apart like that. Reminds me of a Dakota I screwed up and bought years ago. The door pillar wasn't welded on it either. Then again, the rear axle mount wasn't welded to the frame so there wasn't much of a surprise on that junk new truck.

Lots of vehicles use structure "glueing" instead of full welding. Not sure if that's the case with the aluminum F150 or not

I'd think something got between the outer structure, and just cut through the floor and roof sheet metal.

Something like a guy tension cable for a utility pole

That was my first thought. It looks like he hit something that sliced through it.

Looks to like the rescue unit cut the center support and opened it up to extract the front seat passenger?

They wouldn't have made a perfect cut through the floor and the roof. They usually cut horizontal, not down the length of the truck, near hinges and latches.

Not to mention the exterior of the door is completely unharmed

Wow, thanks to the OP for posting this...glad he walked away and shame a brand new Platinum, didn't even have plates yet! Ford should use this in their marketing as proof of a safe truck
