I had to get a rental car a couple of weeks ago to get home from the NW Arkansas airport (the Tulsa airport was close due to snow). I got a Chevy HHR rental.

When I took it to the Tulsa airport the next day to drop it off, I got stuck on an ice ridge 2" tall one block from where my 4x4 F150 was parked.

The interior was nice but the vehicle sucked in general.

A co-worker of mine just traded his Chrysler 300 C with the Hemi in it for an HHR with the 4-banger. Let's just say it was nicer riding to lunch with him in his old Mopar than his new GM! I always tell him it's not a HHR -- it's a GM Crusier!

He claims he made the trade because of fuel mileage, but this doesn't make any sense since he lives about 2 miles away from work and rarely drives anywhere else. A nice guy, but with this line of reasoning I now understand why he's gone bnakrupt a time or two in his life......

Actually, his wife just traded in her Pacifica for a new Cadillac! I told him he got screwed without any kissing -- he trades a Hemi in for a 4-banger, and she trades a "family truckster" in for a Cadillac.....(insert smilie of "round yellow guy" being violated from behind)

Just before a long weekend was when the motor in the Explorer was destroyed, only rental I could get 3 days from a long weekend was a Corolla. Man, worst 4 hour drive of my life. My *** was numb within 45 minutes, the thing couldnt hold the road in the rain at any speed over 65mph, couldnt adjust the wheel or seat so I had the wheel between my knees the whole way. And with the car stopped and the wipers on full the whole car shook.

High quality my ***

I'm probably in a rental, of some sort, more often than I'm in my truck. I spiritfully call it my 'company vehicle'.

From a rental perspective -- if you're just needing a full size car -- the PTs arelly aren't bad. They have ample space and handle okay.
