Going from Edge to Xcal2, is it worth it??

I am currently running the Edge Evo in my truck. I also have a few other mods done (see sig for details), and my question is since I already have the Edge how much more performance would I get if I went with a Xcal2?? Also what type of programs can be written for the Xcal2 and how many can the programmer take (3 maybe)? Thanks for the help!!

Paul

The XCal2 holds 3 custom tunes plus stores your stock tune. I’ve never used the Edge so I can’t do a comparison but I am completely satisfied with Mikes tunes, that’s for sure.

So I could do something like 1. economy, 2.heavy towing, 3. performance ? One other thing, since I run different tires in summer than winter, can I change the tire sizes with the different programs, or is that something that it programmed into the tune? Also is there anything else that I should know about a Xcal2?

Hi Paul,

The Edge device is fine for a standard off-the-shelf type of device - we carry it as well, for example.

Now if you are looking for the best in F-series tuning, then that is our Troyer Performance custom tuning, as we have specialized in tuning & modifying these trucks longer than anyone else - we go into much more depth in the tuning of these vehicles than any of the major chipmakers do, for example, because we specialize whereas they are more concerned with getting hundreds, and sometimes literally thousands of different applications out on the market.

It's really the difference between something that is off the shelf, versus our in-depth custom tuning for each individual vehicle - so we set you up with a set of 3 different custom tunes made for any way you like - any octane level, type of tune (performance, towing, even drag racing, or whatever), so that you have the ultimate in flexibility, raw power gains, overall driveability, shift characteristics, etc.

Is it worth it? Yes, it always is if you want the best. SO it really gets down to, do you want the best?

I would not want to give you the impression that we're going to give you 10 times the power you got from the Edge, that would not be fair to say - but you will get more performance gains and better overall driveability, we have a lot of customers who have the Edge unit and who then came to us for our custom tuning, and rave about it.

That's probably about all I can really tell you without sounding like a complete sales-tool.

All kidding aide, I hope that info helps, & please feel free to give us a call if you'd like to go over any of this in more detail, OK?

Thanks for your post!

I can say, WELL Worth It... I sold my Edge, got Troyer's XCal2 Custom Tuner with 93 MAX, 93 TOW, and 87 MAX... use stock tune for 87 TOW...
and have never looked back..!!!
