Edge tuners... Worth it or not?

I am very new to the tweaking and tuning of trucks. I have read numerous articles and threads on this subject but Id like a simple and honest anser from people that actually use it. Is it worth the money? Is it difficult to install? Will I be able to notice a significant difference? And most importantly is there potential for it to cause any functional/motor/tansmission damage to my new 06 F150? Id appreciate any help...

Dude i can honestly say this is the best mod ever. It takes the throttle lag away completely and the gauges are sweet. I get giggly every time I get ready to hop in. Completely worth it.

i got my edge evo about a month ago.. install was a piece of cake.. as long as you read and follow the instructions it's quite simple.. you basically plug the thing in. turn your key on but don't crank the engine.. select the program you want.. and once it loads the program it will tell you to turn your key off.. after that you can crank the engine and your in business.

i started out with the stock level 2 but corrected the tire size. you could definitely feel a difference.. after i ran all the gas out i filled up with some 93 and i'm on my 3rd tank of premium.. it really is awesome!! even a buddy of my commented on how much better the truck responded and felt. it is a seat of the pants change for sure!

after 2 years i was starting to get tired of my truck.. now it's like brand new again! i love it! for me it was worth every penny!

i have however heard some rumblings that edge may not have the correct code for some of the newer trucks so you may want to make sure yours is supported before you buy it..

I was on the first batch last year when the EDGE was first released.

A couple of glitches along the way, but overall the best mod for the money.

If you have an 06 check your hex code.
if you have a code of TEGE3E forgit about an edge.
They simply have not gotten off there butts and updated yet.
I was told maybe in sept sometime LOL MAYBE

I went with a spuperchips and am very happy it installed in minutes and my shifts are nice and firm and my MPH is wayyyy better getting 17 in town on avg.

Unlike edge when the superchips told me to update all I had to do was hook up the usb cable and in a few minutes it was done.
I am still waiting on the edge update

Untill edge updates I will continue to tell folks with the newer 06 models to beware.

On a plus side it does have a nice guage pakage

I just "upgraded" from a '05 SCAB to a '06 SCREW and I was able to install the Edge in the new truck. As it did for the '05, it definately made a noticeable difference in the '06. It is definately worth it. I guess I was lucky that my HEX code was on the latest update. If you check Edge's web site it will tell you if it covers yours or not.

Good Luck !!

As I recall, there is supposed to be a sticker on the box inside the passenger kick panel. That should be it unless your truck has been reflashed by a dealer and they failed to put a new tag on it. My dealer had left the update tag off, but it was included in Edges programming, so I had no problem. The Edge unit read my HEX for me so now I know what the stock code is.

VERY easy to install. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to install.

So far, no damage to motor or transmission that i can recall.
