I believe the FX4 just means different shocks. The package is less than $100.00. I found this out by going to ford.com and building a truck.

Well the FX4 package is more than just shocks.

The FX4 does have the off road package standard but it has a unique interior to the other F150s (as does the Lariat). I believe it is one of only two packages that have the floor shifter option.

I don't think I need to help any... it took Lariat owners 3 minutes to rack up the responses and great zingers while the dim-witted FX3½ owners took a mind-boggling 21 minutes to come up with "candy-*** lariat.. durrrrr... " I think the posts speak for themselves...

Well, right now I'm a XLT owner, but I do have an opinion on a Lariat VS FX4 though. IMO I think the FX4 is more of a "Manly" truck then the Lariat. The Lariat is also a very nice truck but is the "Luxuary" truck of them all. People with Lariats don't really take them off road and there "not as good" off roading as a FX4 is, since Fx4's are made for the off road. I just think the FX4's have beefier look to them for some reason.

Both are nice trucks though! I'm probably going to get into another F-150 soon, and I can't make my mind up between the two which I would like to have!
