Cool Lightning Street/Strip Shift Kit

I just installed a new modified accumulator from Factory_Tech. All I have to say is that it is AWESOME!! It gave me the performance of a shift kit in a very easily installed unit. The shifts are a lot quicker with just the right firmness. I installed it in about an hour, or the time it would take to do normal service on a transmission (change fluid and filter). All that is required is removing the pan and filter, unbolting the old accumulator and re-installing the new one. Next, you put in a new filter and refill with approximately 5-7 quarts of Mercron fluid. I would recommend this unit to anyone considering a shift kit! The following link is pictures and instructions of the install.

1.87 60' on F1's. Dude. You rock! My best is a 1.97. If I could get a 1.8 I might be able to cut a 13.0 or high 12.9 time. My track prep kinda sucks though. Have you run it at the track with the new accumulator yet? Nice job on the install pics!

I haven't run it at the track yet, but I will as soon as I can. I think it can be worth a tenth or more.

Justin,

Nice photos. I was a bit leary about digging into a tranny but it looks to be a simple procedure. Tranny fluid mess aside. How are the shifts when driving around town?

I've contacted FactoryTech and will be purchasing this setup when I get back from Houston next week.

Juicemac78,

Did you have to have your chip reburned for this change? I want to get a shift kit but I don't want to do anything to my truck that I can't un-do. If I go with this setup I can keep the original piece and just pay the core charge.

Thanks for the good info.

I'm glad you like it, thanks for the mention, and to everyone who has ordered one...They're coming!!!!, getting the cores back is my limiting factor right now, just went to the dealer to get 10 more cores, so the next ten get new and not remanned acumulators. (thre's no difference really, it's not a real wear out kind of part)

Thanks again,

GBE

Shifts around town are excellent. They are just quicker than stock, not neckbreaking (unless you want it too, just give it gas!!) I couldn't ask for better shifts around town, or under heavy throttle.

The chip does not have to be reburned. That is a big perk! I have the latest JL flip chip, and everything works excellent!

Thanks,
Justin
