Arrow Aim 2" lowering shackle part #--->>>

Just received my 2" lowering shackles from Aim in Meza Az. These shackles have only the 1 hole for a 2" lowering. Some people have said they have 2 holes in theirs. These shackles are blue in color with red polyurethane bushings with a zerk fitting for greasing. The part number is SHA-F08286A. Its says for F-150 so I think the shackles are NOT specfic for just the Lightning. Took about an hour total to do the job. Its an easy do-it-yourselfer. Jeff

I just got my shackles from www.truckn.com and they are HUGE! They are painted blue, have two holes 1.25" apart on one end and the center to center measurment between the lower top and the bottom holes is >6". I called them up and they claim that they only make a 2" drop shackle, but I'm still thinking I've got the wrong part.

A little help, please?

The Wyldman

Cool

Hmm, these guys aren't too far from where I work. I think I'll head over there tomorrow after work and pick up a set.

Jeff, so how does it look? Does 2" of drop lower the L to be perfectly level?

The Lightning now sits almost level. Its just a little bit higher in the back. IMHO its a must mod. Its simple to do and only cost 45 bucks for the shackles plus S&H. Wlydman I can measure mine from bottom hole to top hole if you like. If they said all they sell is a 2" drop the why do you have 2 holes in the top of the shackle? Some guys had posted earlier that they had 2 holes in theirs also. Maybe you can have a 1" or 2" drop.....don't know. I just measured the AIM shackle and it is a little more than 6" from hole to hole. I do have some pictures if someone wants to post them here. 1 is of the shackle and the other of the Lightning. Thanks Brad.

Do you have any pics of your truck w/the shackles?

Have you noticed any better weight transfer after the shackles were installed?

Jeff,

As promised, here are your pics:

And a little something extra.....

I installed my DJM drop shackles today, They were black vein powder coated. Install took about 45 minutes, and the truck seems to sit level. I can't really tell because my new replacement tire has yet to come in. I think the best way to say it is that the gaps are now the same, the gap being the space between the wheel and fender on front and back.

Bought min e from AIM.....They had either a 1 +1/2" mayb it was 1+3/4" or the 2' drop. I chose the 2" amd am very pleased. truck is now level. Rides about the same..handles better in the curves..feels more stable without the tendancey to nose dive inside ..
I think it launches better....Weight does tend to shift back better.

Question

Alright, I gotta question.
I don't know if it's been asked before or not but, by using these shackles, does the payload change at all and if it does, is it by much?
Thanks in advance!!!

After looking at my truck (the good side) I have fallen in love. The shackles got rid of what I hated most. (the gap in the rear wheel well) Now that there is no gap it looks soooo good. I will take some pics soon, I have a good pic of the side of my truck, I will take a new "lowered" pic so that people can possibly see the difference.
