Post Help with replacing rearview mirror

I am trying to replace my rearview mirror with an Allview mirror. I know some of you have replaced yours. Can anyone tell how to remove the mirror and arm from the windshield bracket? Mine doesn't have a set screw just something that looks like a button but nothing happens when I push on it.

Thanks

Carefull carefull carefull.

There is no set screw or magic button to push. It must be PRIED off. It is sorta like a snap fit.
I hate rearview mirrors so the first thing I did when I bought my truck was to take it to a glass shop and have them take it off for me.
I would advise taking to a glass shop and have them take it off. If you don't know exactly how to do it, you could very easily break the window. The shop I went to didn't charge me anything. I think they got a kick out of showing me just how far you can flex the glass without breaking it.

I read on here a good while ago, that you just have to turn the mirror down toward the dash until it is vertical, and it will come off.

Exclamation

To get the inside mirror off you need to get a pocket screw driver and slide it into the slot at the bottom of the base where the windsheild is and push the screw driver up into that slot and the mirror will slide off[up],then if you want the base off [part on the windshield] you can take a pocket lighter and heat it up then take a pair of pliers and twist the base off the windshield.Stan
