Cool shift kit

can someone tell me if it's a good thing to scratch between shifts?had transgo installed and bolt scratches a little between 1st and second but it does that with just a chip. so after i put cats back on [lost low end tourqe]if it still doesn't scratch should i drill bigger holes that come with kit? is scratching a plus or a negative for e/ts?did a search on this and no one talks about if scratching between gears will help or hurt[loss of traction] your e/ts. thanks

losing traction between shifts is bad, it does mean you have more power, but it is being waisted on chirpng the tires. You just nedd sticker tires

Had Transgo install my shift kit for me - spinning the tires between shifts is unnecessary and will of course cost you time.

But its FUN !!

And it means that you have more torque than the tires and pavement can handle.

Would I rather drive a Ford Ranger that I can smack the hell out of and never get good power and speeds? Or drive a Lightning and have to pedal it to keep traction, or otherwise change the coefficient of friction, Upgrade tires, add weight, change air pressure, etc etc

I’ll take the Lightning and save my pennies for tires…..

Only reason I havent done the shift kit is I am not sure the Auto will handle the torque long term. I would like to try to keep the warranty on my side. Plus PSP chip shifts good, dont think I need more....

I believe someone on this board who works on Ford trannys said that ours can handle up to 1000 ft.lbs. of torque so HOPEFULLY a shift kit + chip won't be too much to handle.

A bit misleading...
