Post Post pics of different hoods

I'll go first!

This hood is from Keystone Restyling and appears that it easily could be utilized to be a functional ram air hood. Check it out below

Waiting for someone to post a pic of Cervini's ram air hood

Hi Pacecar18
I have posted many of the hoods at the Lightning Zing site with the exception of the Cervini (just don't have one on a Lightning). There is even a nice underhood shot of the Keystone Restyling hood and you can see where it can be made into a functional ram air type. Also with some work the AAD hood could be made functional. Check it out.

Cool

Cervini's now has a functional ram air hood for the L. Go to http://www.cervinis.com/9800F250and9700F150.html for a look at it.

PS: It weighs 40 lbs. Anyone know what the stock hood weighs?

PPS: Nuther question. I told myself that its only a truck to tow my boat with, so why spend a lot of bucks on cosmetic improvements? Then I saw this hood, and it is awfully tempting, money be damned. I would still like to know what the weight penalty is, though. And anyone know what the going price of installation and paint job? (Wyldman ought to know). Finally, what do you folks do with your factory hoods? Can you get anything for them?

Thumbs up

Thanks Babolt, I'll take a look!

Alphadoggy is the man! I just checked a while back and couldn't find that picture.

This is a nice looking hood for the L. IMO

Are those vents (scoops) functional or fake plastic trash? Doesn't really say at the web site, only that it's a ram air hood. I've heard ram air before and seen fake plastic instead.

That first hood is pretty ugly- not even sure those scoops are functional. I like the second pic, and those scoops are definitely real.

Hey lightning owners. I talked to a representative of Cervinini's about a month ago and his response to the hood was that it was out but the functional ram air system for the hood would be a while before it came out. The hood was featured in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords in the I think February issue. In the issue it shows a picture of what the Ram Air system will look like and I'll tell you I was impressed. but like I said if you want functional from Cervinni's you'll have to wait a while.. Hope this helps,,

I wouldn't be too sure about that, ad4x4. Reason I was able to post the link was because I e-mailed Cervini's after I saw the pic in MM&FF, and I got a reply today directing me to call Kevin @ 1-800-488-6057 if I was interested in purchasing the ram air hood. I believe this is the real deal, but if you want to verify call that number.

Alphadoggy, I didnt mean the hood wasnt available, because it is available. The ram air system is what i was referring to. A month ago it wasnt available for the hood. But its been a month, so it might be. But the hood is available...

Alphadoggy- You must be the only person in California to get a 2000 Lightning so far?
If you are interested in the ram air system, make sure it will hook up with the Lightning's air intake system, or if it has a separate airbox (which is normally $200-300 extra), and not just the standard F150's. I have a 98 LS1 with a functional ram air hood from Suncoast Industries with airbox which I paid $1150 for unpainted, and had I supercharged the engine, I would have had to scrap the functional airbox. Instead, I ordered a Lightning!

are any of you looking for a performance gain with a ram air kit, over one of the air filter kits available? the "L" is very well ventilated underhood while moving, i checked with multiple temp probes. the hoods sure look good though.

Short and to the point!

How much does a stock hood weigh?

I called Cervini this morning and they said the hood is not functional, and they don't know when it will be.

Yet another email response from Cervini. The response I got from them on their ram air hood was that the vents are functional, but no ram air kit available at the present time.
