The Lo-Pro is made by Impulse. Its just my opinion, but I like the looks of the Lo-Pro with the bed rails showing. Some don't like that at all! My truck is red (the fastest color stock from the factory, LOL) and it looks good on red with all the other black plastic on the truck. You pull two pins and it comes right off. Mine has never leaked. Even through the car wash.

Gilbert,

Try http://www.lo-pro.com/home.htm

I was thinking about the Lo-Pro, too, since they are a part of A.R.E. I decided to go w/ the SnugLid, though, since they are over-the-rail vs. on-the-rail like Lo-Pro.

Appearance is a very personal thing so, aside from looks, as I see it the main disadvantages to the LoPro vs. LSII (both made by A.R.E.) is that the LoPro has just a 3-year warranty vs. a lifetime warranty on the LSII and the LoPro requires a dozen holes to be drilled in the truck vs. the LSII's clamp-on system.

The biggest advantage to the LoPro to me is that it appears to be easier to remove than the LSII (if that happens to be important to a particular owner).

One unknown (to me at least) is the water and dust resistant qualities of the LoPro. Anyone know if it is as good in this area as the LSII?

Question

My thoughts on buying the Lo Pro are for the looks. I like the fact that it does not come over the bed rails. Like Jerry I probably wont be opening it that much. My dealer wants almost as much for it as a Snug Top or a LSII. Cant figure how one can have a 3yr and the others lifetime for about the same price. Whats up with that?

KGM The locking systems works perfect. It would be nice if you didn't have to have two locks, but I don't open it up more than two of three times a month. I think I paid around $600.00. I will look at my bill on Mon. and post the price here. If you want to see how it looks on the truck, I will post a pic on Mon. also. Let me know.

Yes,
Please post some pics. Jerry can you get it cheaper if they send it without painting it. I'm trying to decide what cover to go with but I'm having my truck repainted Ferrari Yellow (Gaillo Modena) and would like a perfect match for the cover. I kinda like the dark part of the bedrails that are seen. It goes with the flow with the rest of the Lightning.

Thanks,
Terry

Asdeman, yes you can get it for less without paint. I had to wait for mine to be painted at the factory. If you were going with the stock color it would match perfectly. But I'm with you on the yellow L with the black bed rails showing. On black it doesn't look that good. But on red... I like it, and don't care if anyone else does. LOL

Yes, there are several types of electric lifts available. Just like what is used on the Lincoln Blackwood truck. The price is based on the amount of extension required. As I posted a while back I am in the process of doing just that to my truck. So that at the touch of a button I can display what is mounted in my pick up box. I will get you some information if you want to go that route too.

I have a remote locking kit on my Tonneau. The tonneau itself is a Lo-Rider. It's made in Canada, and while the quality of the fiberglass seems decent, the paint was not perfect. There were some noticeable swirl marks on the cover up near the back of the cab on the drivers side. Other than that the top is nice. It fits well, it's pretty flat (just a slight rise such that water will run on when the truck is level). The edge is trimless. The inside is carpeted and matches my BedRug. The locking kit was hard to adjust and I ended up doing it myself because the dealer I got the tonneau from couldn't get it done to my satisfaction. Now that I've polished the top (4 times) with Zaino bro's z-5 polish to get rid of the swirl marks, it looks great. Having no locks on the top really makes it look clean. Sorry for the long post. I had to vent a little.
