Forget safety, my rollcage dropped my 60 ft. times

Of Course safety is important, but had I known the benefit of the stiffer chassis I would have done this sooner.

All things being as equal as possible. The last 3 passes (2 different tracks)I made before the winter were all 1.65-68 sixty foots with a definate hooking problem. I heard the slicks spin every pass.

My best 60 ft. ever was 1.58 on a 10.7s run.

Well the passes I made in Florida were 1.59 and 1.60 60 ft and that was running 11.51 and 11.37 on a pretty mild tune.

Same rear tires, same suspension , same set-up on the QA1s.

Of course this is VERY unscientific , but I was happy w/ the results none the same.

VINNIE

You are not dreaming

You're right Vinnie, I got down to 1.52 after my cage install. I'm hoping to go 1.40's this season.

Chassis flex will eat up energy. Now do a 4-link and watch for more improvement. With the power you have in your future you need a better way to get it to the ground. With your basically stock rear suspension configuration new/more power will be a waste. Your next BIG improvement in ET will come from suspension not H/P.

Thats very doable. We have a 4link and our best 60ft to date is a 1.44. Now all we need is some sort of frame stabilizer unit to make up for all the metal we cut out. (hey..theres a thread on that right now)

Way to go, Vin. Keep it consistant.

Ralph,
The way I read Johnny AC's post, I ASSUME he meant 1.49 or better. That's only three one thousandths of a second, and that is doable with his current set up.
But I see your point..... 1.40 would be "MAJOR"

Wink Thanks Fred

Yes Fred, my bad. I meant that I might see 1.48 or 1.49 this season. Don't worry Ralph, I won't be challenging your Hot Rod anytime soon. I'm only upgrading my front shocks to QA1's and maybe a little weight trimming. Hmmmm, there's always the outside chance that I'd go crazy and have Jim set me up with some spray. Na, I'm happy with my 10.7 street ride.

I wonder if that new South Beach diet has any bearing on the new and improved 60' times
