Hello all, this is my first post and just wanted top say hey... Also, I just bought an 05 Expedition and want to put an 04+ F-150 front end on it and was curious if anyone new whether or nor it would simply bolt right up or whatnot. Any input would be appreciated

 

even if you could bolt up the parts, I don't think the old body style front end would match up to the rest of the vehicle. The body lines won't match. I had an 03 Expy and an older 97-03 F150 and I don't think anything will bolt up. Besides, I can understand wanting to put a newer style front end on an older vehicle, but why put on the old style front end on a new one. Just go by an older model Expy.

I am relatively certain that, after removing the bumper, grill, and entire front assembly (minus the two fender pieces), the F-150 stuff should theoretically bolt right on. However, the 150 and the Expedition, although similar, do have major differences. If it was something like a Chevy that has no steel reinforcement around the front or sides, then I'd say go for it since it's not built in to the underlying structure. However, since it's a Ford and incorporates the metal underneath the fascia, you may need to ask your dealership if it's the same shell. If the 05 Expie and the 04+ F150 have the same metal shell underneath the fascia, you should have little problem with it.

 

Hey KonMan, you should bolt the F-150 front end to the back of the Expy. That way you'll have something that looks good coming and going!

well to let you know i have a 2002 f150 ex cab and i just put a 2005 expedition front on it with the headlights and stuff had to change fenders , hood, header panel, and headlights and front bumper along with some other stuff .. let me find you a good piture of it but the f150 fenders from 04 on up are not the same as the expy i looked at that also

 

How much did the entire front end cost you and where did you get it, I never see newer vehicles at salvage yards.

 

total cost was around 2500.00 for the front bought some parts of ebay like the lights there oem offroad package headlights and the hood was bought on ebay also everything else wsa from ford and it's all bolt on

 

did all the paint work myself to save money total project was like 4000.00 with all the grills and stuff that i had to get extra like the fog lights and all

 

Not a bad price at all, looks fantastic.
