Rear Window with cages???

I recently had a cage installed in my truck and I am not real happy with the rear window. We used an earlier model slider and removed the two end glasses and used 1/8" tinted plexiglass. There seems to be a slight contour to the frame and when we tighten the bottom screws to pull the plastic tight, we get some ropples. What is everyone using for the plastic????? Is 1/8" thick enough or should I get some 3/16"??? Do you have to use screws to hold it in or can you somehow heat it and make it fit the contour of the frame and then just glue it??? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

I would have to meassure the thickness of the Lexan in my rear window. Mine is rivited and glued in, and uses a aftermarket rear window frame.

Eric,
Very clean looking. What did they use for the side pieces and did they glue them in or screw them????? How thick was the plastic????? Did they have to heat and form the plastic to fit the contour of the frame???? Hope I am not being a PITA, but your installation looks really clean and I would love to know what they used and how it was done.
Thanks
Mike

Mike here is a pic of the inside of my rear window.
You might want to call JDM and ask them about the window, as they did the window

there are some more pics in my gallery

Suavy,

Pin was recieved and quickly used. Thanks!!!

Mike,

It's an aftermarket replacement rear slider. The glass side windows were removed and lexan was glued in place. It works very well and I haven't had any issues. The Lexan is a little thicker than some of seen, it looks almost like glass. I would give Rhodes a call and see if they can give you the exact thickness.
Actually, the can probably get you the parts if you would like. Email me if you need more info.

Roll Cage

99SVT Lightning,
HOw much does a roll cage like that cost and is this one race legal. Can a roll cage be made without going through the rear window and still be structurually sound?

Thanks,
TB

A cage like mine is around $2500 installed. Mine is NHRA legal and it has to go through the back window. The bar made my whole truck more structurally sound since it connects to the frame. I don't get any squeeks or rattles. If you leave the bars installed the pins make a slight rattle, but I leave my bars out most of the time.
