Question Probably a stupid question, but...

Should my truck have come with the plastic cover that would go over the center indentation in the bumper... you know, the place where a ball hitch would go if you were to put one on the bumper (God forbid). Mine does not have a cover there and the paint there is a little scratched. So if it wasn't supposed to come with one, where can I get one? Any truck accessories place?
Thanks in advance!

I had to buy mine... I'm pretty sure they're not standard, but some dealers may have given them away.

There is a thread somewhere with the part number. I went down and ordered the 5 cent part that cost me $4.00

Kristi,

Just go to a Ford dealership and order one/pick one up. I just got mine early part of this week and it was $2.75 plus tax.

Sad to say it does not come with the truck.

Anyone that spells their name that way should get one for FREE! I got one I will give you, came with my truck from dealer. I took off their name and left it blank and its still in the trailer hitch sitting in my garage.

My wife spells her name the same way. Only second time I have seen it spelled that way.

Don't mean to sound smart-butt, but to avoid the "Do you know what you want?" look from parts guy, I think the part # is supposed to read:
XL3Z-17D54-AAB "INSERT"
Reading from the parts bag and invoice!!!

Mine didn't come with one, but after parts told me they'd have to special order it I smiled nicely at a sales lady and she allowed me to "borrow" one from an Expedition.

Went to the nearby dealership and asked the parts department if they had any of them and they told me that they only came in biege and silver....sooo I decided to go and look at the new trucks(ones with black bumpers)and found out how easy it is to pop one out and put into place....you can figure out the rest...Cannot believe that they did not know there was more than two colors available

OK Are we talking about the same part, here? I don't just want the little round plug. I want the flat piece that snaps (I guess) over that whole small, flat section of the bumper there...
Am I making any sense here?? LOL
I may need to go take a picture of the one on my Sierra and show you LOL... or I could just show it to the Ford Parts people and cut out the middleman

BTW- It's always cool to see/hear about another "Kristi". We LIVE to correct people who misspell our names. "Hey!! I am DIFFERENT, DAMMIT!!" LOL
