there was a discussion thread on Satellite radio a few months ago, and I mentioned the major deficit of sound quality, and everyone just shrugged their shoulders. I don't understand why people pay for sub par quality. There are a few programs that are somewhat exclusive, but for music it doesnt make any sense?

I would agree that the sound quality is not good on some of the stations...Howard 101 has the best sound quality...

I let my subscription lapse a few weeks ago and am hating terrestrial radio again...I do alot of driving, and some of it to places that don't have radio reception and spotty cel signal...satelite has always been there!

They have different bandwidths for different stations...music stations having the better bandwidth (at least that is how I have heard it explained)...

Regards!

For music I can use bluetooth and mp3 or Pandora. No biggie there. It's not worth it just for Howard for me.
