Angry Siriusxm costs doubled!!!

Hey all,
Just got my renewal from Sirius and my bill was almost double. With all other options cd/mp3/ect. I will be canceling. Are they crazy? Also says they charge extra to invoice me, guess they don't know about business overhead costs. Guess we will be charged a check out fee at the grocery store !!!!!!!!!!!!!Had this account 7 years but no more. Anyone else had this happen????? I am HOT with them.

Call them up and ask for a deal. You can usually get a year for under $100. Try several different CSRs and the "Retention Dept", if you have to. Ask to have the invoice fee credited. It costs a couple of bucks in overhead to do paper invoicing, that's why they'd prefer you pay via credit card automatically otherwise, they will shift that cost to you.

Cancel if they won't play ball, you'll get new offers within a month to come back.

Hey project,
Thanks for the advise. I have had it since 2008, when I bought the truck new. Seems as if they would rather give deals to new customers than take care of loyal customers, lol. I see your GT has only 68k on it, my F150 only has 24+ on it, cool. I will try you suggestions. Again thanks for the response.

Such low quality bitrate for something you pay for? Its less than half CD audio quality? You kidding me?

Never been a customer, don't plan on it either

I too got the $ 200+ renewal bill...I let my subscription lapse for a few weeks...I got an e-mail from them for $ 25 for 6 months...I went with that...

I don't think the service is worth what they want for it...with that said...I like Sirius...I do alot of driving to places where there is no radio reception...Sirius is always there...I listened to terrestrial radio for the few weeks that I didn't have service...I went nuts with the static, and fading stations...and since someone liberated my Ipod classic from my truck back in October it was even more maddening...

Regards!

With all the podcasts and radio stations out there I don't see myself ever paying extra just to listen to the radio. Maybe I'm just old school because I'd rather pop in a cd. If I drove a semi or something I might go for it.

I got the 6 month free Sirius with my new truck and probably only had it on for about 15 minutes total... Had lots of channel choices, but nothing I wanted to pay for.

Plus, didn't work in the garage, or going under overpasses.. That's what I hated the most about it. Nothing like being stuck in rush hour traffic and getting stuck under an overpass and getting nothing..

I'm still getting junk mail from them to renew for new subscriber rates, but I just have my old iPod plugged in with about 1500 songs on it and I'm good..

I thought I'd like the Nascar channel, but it wasn't anything I wanted to pay over $100 a year for.

Anyway, good luck with it and if it works for you, that's great!

I wish the OEM radio had the HD radio on it... I like that much better... And it's free.

Mitch

Sirius/XM has got to have the most PERVERSE view of customer service of any company I have ever dealt with in my 50 years on this earth! Instead of offering a decent product at a decent price, they play the "teaser intro-rate/fudge-packing renewal rate" game that only complete dupes would fall for! Then, when you call to cancel you have to do this sick little dance to get a rate that is reflective of what their service is truly worth -- less than $10.00 per month.....

Quite frankly, their programming and music selection sucks, and the only reason I even kept the service was because I could get the radio broadcast for every NFL game at a time when I was often traveling for business on Sunday afternoons.

My last renewal will definitely be my final go-round with Sirius/XM and I can promise you I won't miss them a single bit!

Well, I've had XM since 2002. Currently, I have two receivers with life subs, one has NASCAR, etc also (the other sub was a "gift" that came with that receiver). I used to have a third receiver on a monthly bill that was billed as a second, but I cancelled it as I don't need three.

So I no longer get a bill.

I use Delphi SkyFi receivers, I have dock stations on two Gold Wings and in 7 four wheeled vehicles (all but one ebay sourced cheaply). The GW setups use wireless modulators, the in vehicle setups use wired in Delphi modulators (all but one ebay sourced).

I make do ..... "OK".

Wink

I'm trying to decide what I want to do. I have an '11 Lariat with nav.. I also use the other features like the weather maps, traffic, and stuff. I signed up after my trial ended in July of '11, and I went for a two year period. It was $496.55 with Royalty fees. What I had at that time was called Sirius Premier with traffic and travel link. In June of '13 It was time again for the renewal. At that time the increase for two years was about $45.00 bucks, to make it $541.62. So I did it. I get the notice a few weeks ago about the renewal. It's now called SiriusXM Premier + Traffic + Traffic link. The subscription has gone up to $662.87 for two years, about a $121.00 increase. Doing the math, at the moment I'm paying about $22.57 a month. If I stay pat, I'll be paying $27.62 a month. That's too much. So I guess I will be making a phone call for a better deal for sure.....

Yeah, I had it on my mind to cancel and heckle with them after I received a $200 bill. But, I lagged and by the time I needed to do it i was leaving on a trip and had to have it (rural traveling) plus I had a ton of work to finish before I left. So I let it ride.....and worked the time I would have spent on the phone negotiating and thus earned the difference .....and got my work done too lol
