FM direct connect in a GM? Doesn't fit.

Maybe some can help, tried putting a FM direct connect adapter in my GF's 03 Sunfire. Her antenna...., male plug? is too small to fit the fm's female end. That said, the male end of the fm direct is too thick for the GM radio. Is there a specific GM on of these or an adapter for this adapter? It worked fine in my Ford, but this one is too small, what's the deal?

When I did Nikki's iPod adapter install, I had to get 2 GM antenna adapters for it.
these connected to the full size antenna, and sized down to the GM antenna connector.

I got her Scosche iPod FM adapter from Crutchfield, and the suggested asscy were the 2 antenna adapters.

I find, the more I do on her Pontiac, the more of a PITA the GM engineers are at building stuff. No wonder they are hemorrhaging cash, they could not build a more complex car, and sell it for 17K.

Cool, you actually reassured me about ones I found on ebay. The old lady told me not to worry about them and thinks it's a big deal now so don't bother. I can't wait till we drive her car out of town again and listen to her complain or have me spend 5 minutes every 10 looking for a better channel.

GM and electricity don't seem to match well. They wire things weird all the time. Not a big fan of their power window motors and how you have to specialty rivet them into place- another story all together.

Thanks SSCULLY.

And to round out this story, got the adapters today locally and she works nice. Plus side, there was lots to room for the FM adapter and GM radio's are easy as hell to take out.
