sirius antenna a piece of crap

i enjoy the sirus radio but the magnetic antenna is a piec of crap. this is the 3rd antenna that i have put on the roof. i ran it under the headliner and out the brake light twice now. this time i pulled the tray out of the center dash and double sided taped it between the defroster ducts. im tired of dumping 42 bucks and the time to change it. hopefully the enviorment in the truck will be friendlier to it.

anyone else seeing these antennas fail?

Constantly. The older round Sirius Dots were prone to water infiltration. I have a new one but have not had time to install it so I am currently using a Kenwood one through the door jamb and on the front of my roof.

didnt even consider another brand like that or xm. just assumed that they would do something to make it non compatabile with the sirius. like i said though, hopefully it on the dash will get the same reception and non subject it to the water or damage. do you know if they have improved the "dots"?

azmidget91 thats where i put it now. i find that when i go under heavy tree cover i lose the signal where as before i had it. thats not that often so i think i will leave it there. my f150 sits out side all the time. i have the same antenna on my mustang and the wifes vehicle and the mustang is 2 years old and the wifes antenna afte swapping form a previous vehicle is about 4 years. my truck 3rd antenna in 4 years. has to be the being outside part.
