Hardwire Sirus power

I'm thinking about hardwiring power to my sirius SP3(in my 04 Screw) to make it a cleaner install....how would I do this...I've read some posts about tapping into the yellow/green wire (from HU) but still not sure........as you can see I'm new to the whole wire thing so please forgive my ignorance......my concern is that the sportser 3 I have is 5v and I don't want to fry the unit......I've also read about adding an additional lighter behind the radio but I would like for my unit to turn off when I turn the truck off............any help is greatly appreciated.............THANKS in advanced

i know you already have the pie, but there is a pie that is what you need. i have it out in my truck and i will get the number for you when i got off work, but it had the 5v power and it cuts on and off with the truck. i just taped into the cig lighter behind the dash and made a small hole for the wire to come out behind where i mounted my unit. now mine is xm, but it is a 5v so i bet it would work for u. i will get back later with the part number so you can look it up and research about it. later

If you buy a cig. lighter adapter all you gotta do is hook up the power lead (usually red) to the accessory and the black to ground, then you've got your switched power personally I'd tap into the ignition wires under the dash

You didn't specify the year truck you've got...
so here's the wiring for 04+ & 97+ and a pic of the wiring for 04+ ignition wires

04+ HU power wire colors
+12V DC Battery(Constant) Lt.green/violet
Switched Accessory Pink/black
Ground Black & black/light green

97+
+12V DC Battery(Constant) Lt.green/violet
Switched Accessory Black/pink
Ground Black & black/light green

I have a 2004 Screw and your post and picture is confusing me just a bit (probably me)...your post has Switched Accessory as pink/black but the picture has it as Black Green.....and keysence as pink/black.........just trying to bet everything in order before my install..........Thanks again for all the HELP......

I spent this evening installing my Sirius Stiletto 100. I love it. It is like Tivo for my satellite radio. I tapped into the 12v that isn’t switched. It is always on, so my radio is always trickle charging. That way I can program it to record programs when I am away from my truck. I had it set up in my other truck and it worked like a charm.

New to me...06 F-150 XLT SuperCab

Have to agree.

It's not just F150s. PIE in other Ford vehicles is nothing but problems.

I have the XM5-FRD04, it works just fine. I spoke with PIE Tech support. They have problems with Mustangs and 500s. They don't report having problems with F-150s.
