New Sirius Unit?

Well boys and girls. I have finally had it with my Xact Stream Jockey. I have now sent two in for warranty, and now the third unit has crapped out. I think I am going to get a different brand. I am looking at the Sirius Starmate re-play, or the other re-play unit (can't remember model).

Any preferences? Likes, or dislikes between the two?

Happy New Year!

I installed the Xact Replay. It has been great. The home and vehicle mounts are different from the Starmate and the Xact also has a plastic extension that hides the cable plugs. Costco currently sells the Xact with vehicle and home kits for $119.

The starmate is nice. I have had several different units (I retail Sirius) and from all the ones I have used, I actually prefer the larger units like the audiovox pnp generation 3 unit. The screen is much larger, and more info is displayed for you to see at all times. You get song title, artist, channel name and number, reception status and preset band all at one time, whereas with the smaller units you get either name or artist, and maybe something else uf you're lucky.

I know it takes up more space, but its nice to have all the info plus this unit allows for you to save up to 20 songs in the song seek feature, where the unit will alert you when those songs come on on any station. Unfortunately, the pnp3 has been discontinued though, and the sircmb5 is being released in january, but I am not fond of the new design.

Thanks!

My question relates more to general quality...as I indicated, I am on my third Xact unit under warranty. My original unit lasted about six months, but the last two have made it about four weeks total (8days 1st replacement, and three weeks second replacement). Each warranty turnaround has been about three weeks (month and a half that I have paid for service, but can't use it).

I just don't want a repeat.

Happy New Year!

I've got the Sirius Starmate Replay and I am very happy with it. I mounted it in dash and it's hooked up thru thru a PIE interface.
