4x4 On the strip

hey guys, first post here. Hopefully you guys can help me out, or send me in a direction to help. I wrecked my 90notch(where the motor came from) and had the f150 sitting in the garage and figured what the heck.

I'm currently working on an "Oddball" strip only truck. 1990 f150 w/ new style front end, almost "built motor" etc...But the odd thing is its 4 wheel drive.

Its a sbf, 30" Drag radials front/rear, spool in the rear, welded front, 4.10 gears(as of now) but my question is...How the hell do I set up the suspension, how do I warm up all 4 tires at once, etc...No one around here is really doing any type of awd drag racing, and in all reality I dont really know where to start. Is there any good reading matereal out there that would help me? All I really have is a killer motor, and a good roller truck...the rest I'm clueless.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

If you get enough lift in the front and transfer the weight well... with some sticky tires... You'd be doing good.

I don't think you'll be able to heat the fronts.

Nice project though.. We needs pics.

unless you are putting down some serious horse power, you probably dont need to worry about warming all four, the rear should be plenty

you wont need to warm them up.
your truck won't launch with the traditional weight shift to the back,
the front will pull and keep the front down alot more. as long as you got some kinda slick on there you should be good to go. unless ofcourse your putting down 600lbs to the ground or more.( and you have to remember thats getting divided between the front and rears). only 4wd drive burnouts i've seen have been from chipped out duramax's and such.

As for suspension
i would definately box the rear. but the front i honestly wouldnt kno what to do with. maybe lower it just a bit so when you launch the little bit of transfer you get will level the truck out?
