The Lightning guys do a lot of racing and they're running some pretty awesome times...there are also some pretty hot single cabs running some good numbers as well...And, I've seen some posts were some supercharged extended cabs and super crews will put it on you, if you don't bring your "A" game...

Hopefully some of these guys will join in...

Im running a 1988 f150 long bed. It has the 5.0, ford racing underdrive pulleys, MSD ignition, flowmaster exhaust, summit racing gear-drive, 4:30 gears, lakewood tracion bars, and a 100shot of nitrous. I havent done nething else to the engine, BONE STOCk, the key is timing.
Only made 1 run but didnt have enough nitrous, should have filled but before i went to the track.
Runs
60'- 2.100
1/8- 9.48
Speed- 71.08mph
Its pretty exciting staging next to a 5.0 mustang and being able to blow the doors of off it. I am ordering the edelbrock intake, heads, cam, and headers. I am also going to swap out the stock suspension and get some hoosier slicks, hopefully ill get into the 7's so i can add a role cage!!!

How did you get those times in a screw type truck?

The stock lightning hits that... What type of supercharger does the harley have? I want some type of set up like that for my SCEW truck. It's good for a daily driver, but just needs a lil more power. You know?

Actually I've raced a few stock Lightnings and never lost to one yet. My HD is quicker than a stock L and weighs just over 5600lb with me in it.

As far as mods go, I have a 6lb lower pulley, JLP Ram Air induction kit, TR6 plugs and the tuning is by Troyer Performance (with an Xcal2) The blower is the standard Eaton.
I also have LFP 58" traction bars and the run was done on Hankook 295/40/20 street tyres.

I've had a few people call me out on this one so here's a video of the run. You can hear the blower screaming over the music on the P.A. system

I've raced my Lightning a few times but I've never run my 4x4. Best time so far with the Lightning was 12.9 @ 107 in the 1/4.

I thought the HD was the same weight as My F150 around 7000 lbs or more...
Thats really impressive for a larger truck.

Lmao.

i had my truck on the scales at the local dump weighed in at 4800 with my lil brother. he weighs maybe 170.

So needless to say those scales were a tad off. I really want to get on some acurate trucker scales sometime.

I weighed my truck on the NHRA certified scales at Houston Raceway Park when I first had it over there.
It weighed 5590lb exactly but this was before the traction bars were fitted.
My truck had a bedcover and bedliner so that's a few extra pounds there.
