help truck pull

I am planning to use my truck this year at a local truck pull.Anybody got any pointers to help me along
For example.
What gear do I take off in
What kind of tires
Any small mods to performance
Anything with weight displacement
Should I install helpers in back
My signature shows specs on vehicle.
Basically a stock 150 with 5.4 3.73 gears
Looking to add posi definite.
Thank you
Rus

I gave it a shot. It was the 8000 lb class 97- current.
I was told 14k was the weight.I left in 2nd gear 4 low and got 239 feet.Probably would do better !st gear 4 high or maybe 4 low as my power ran out.I weigh 5810 with me behind wheel.
My truck is 100% stock except for fipk kit.
