We had one several years ago (like 2001). Unfortunately, it was very under utilized thus, it was decided to remove the feature.

There are more than enough options to this already ( the reason why the fields for AIM, ICQ, etc ).

No need to recreate the wheel when there are wheels that work just fine for this.

for some reason, my IM on here has NEVER worked...could be that my server here @ work has a filter/block on it???...it's not a huge deal..........

IM as in AIM, YIM ,etc.

F150online does not have an IM function.

Actually... there should be a free Java-based or PHP based instant messenger on the site.

Call me crazy, and i can't prove it nor do i remember where i found it, but 1 or 2 nights ago I SWEAR I saw an option for sending an instant message to someone on here???? That's what gave the the idea of chat room....I clicked on it and a pop-up box showed up, but had some 'fail' message due to 'system can't find host' or some computer termage that I can't quote....I do a lot of e-surfing @ night while @ work, but I'm 99% sure it was on this site but I could be wrong (I cannot remember any other site that i would have tried to IM on)....anyway, if no one believes me, that's fine, i'm not gonna argue about it...anyway, i'll be going home Tues. morning and won't be around for 2 weeks, so........

Look at truckguys info. He is the third poster. There is an AIM icon under his info, is this what you are talking about.

that may be (probably is) it......i really have no idea where i saw it....surfing the net for 8+ hours almost every night for 2 weeks will do that to a man

Edit: definately it, i just tried clicking on it and it was the same message / pop up........thanks...now i feel a little less insane....NEED COFFEE!!

If you really want real time chat, you could start an unofficial IRC channel somewhere.

If you do start an IRC channel, please do not name it with F150online, without prior approval from IB / Internet Brands.
