8 inch lift questions.
Well I'm getting the 8inch Fab-Tech suspension lift for my truck...but not installed for a few more months while I gather up all the stuff I want(tires, pre-runner bars, limited slip with 4:56, ect...) Just wondering if I'll need to have my driveshaft legthened if anyone here would know...I know of guy's with my same tranny and size truck going as high as 6in w/out having too.
Has anyone ever had to have there's legthened, how much should I expect to pay?

I dont know if this will help or not, but I paid $180 for an entire new custom driveshaft. I think a balance is around $40-$50 with new joints installed. You can plan on the charge of the balance + the lengthen, so I would guess $75-$100 per shaft with new joints.
Of course, I'm kinda speaking out of my A..., so maybe somebody has had this done before.
On a side note:
WOW! 8" is a lot.

According to there web site they recommend 35x12.5 and say there's plenty of room for larger...but I don't want to kill my 4.9L and kill the Pre-Runner effect...I want all the travel I can get so I'm sticking with 35's. On a cool note I found a shop that is installing my 4:56 for only $300!!!!! Thats parts and labor!!!! I'm having a Limited Slip put in so it should be around $600 for part and labor out the door!

I've got to find some ladder bar's that will work with the lift also, or might get some 6inch lift one's and ahve them extended.
