4x4 Front axle shaft assembly broken, can I drive?

Truck: 1994 Ford F-150 4x4 5.0

My passenger side front axle shaft assembly u-joint exploded and also snapped the assembly ends on both sides. It needs to be moved a few miles, mostly downhill, in order for a tow truck to come get it. Can I drive it in 2 wheel drive without damaging anything else?

Also when replacing the assembly shafts, is it side specific?

Thanks!

You can drive it home in 2wd if your hubs and transfer case are unlocked. You might have to tie up the broken shaft.
The small shafts that go through the spindles are the same. The inner shafts are specific.
